Yesterday night was the Sinulog 2013 Awarding. The winners for literature and photo contents were known and published ahead. However for documentary and short films, it was still earlier that afternoon that judging was done. All films were shown earlier that afternoon. Although I did not win the photo contest, I find great pride at the shots I took. The photos that won were almost the same shots as I have on the same subjects. My photos just lack focus and sharpness. Ain't that great?! That means I got the artistic eye!

I will be turning 30 this year and that somehow made me feel sad. Very soon, I will need to make a decision to start trying to bear a child again or to completely let go of the idea. I have been taking pills for 7 months now and it would be hypocritical of me to say I didn't enjoy it. I did. I enjoyed the freedom from the monthly scares. My periods are now regular and predictable. I feel good about myself too. I placed much effort in my diet and workout.

Good news... I've already submitted 10 of my best photos. Yey! Let's hope for the best! I can't post them here because Sinulog Foundation rules don't allow us to.

I hope these photos will give you an idea of how beautiful Sinulog was in my eyes. I hope it will encourage you to join the celebration next time. :)

I excitedly awaited the 3rd Sunday of January. I have psyched myself up in preparation for the weekend. It finally came. Wheee! ^_^

I purposely skipped Friday night parties (yes, no LifeDance party for me) to prepare myself for Saturday's whole day activities.

My colleague and friend, Glenn, got a new iPhone4. He had recently decided to switch to iPhone4 to try out the experience. His main problem was how to transfer his contacts from his old Android phone to the iPhone. After gruesome investigation and several trial and error, he finally figured it out. He was kind enough to share it with us and hope this will solve your problem too.

I have been ordering cakes from Lani M. Garcia for several years now. I like ordering from her because she is creative. Her cakes and cupcakes always look really beautiful and each order is always unique. Most especially, I like how her pastries are not overly priced. I also like that her place is very near from where I live. It's only at Lahug and very convenient (for me) for pick-up of my orders.

If there is one thing that should never stop, it should be learning. In my Words from the Wise post, Teddy Locsin Jr said, "The one who travels fastest are the ones who travel lightest. Take more knowledge. It's the lightest and most useful baggage." I couldn't agree more. Knowledge is a powerful weapon. This is why we invest on reading books and traveling. We seek to expand our horizon.
